Dear Friends,
I’m about to finish editing and formatting Burkhart Müller-Hillebrand’s “Germany and Its Allies in World War II: A Record of Axis Collaboration Problems.” Very soon you’ll be able to download it from my website absolutely for free (as a PDF file).
Why did I find this work interesting and decide to share it with you? First and foremost, because I think it’s really informative and easy to read. It’s a compilation of relatively short texts written in the first postwar years by several German officers, mostly military attachés and liaisons to high commands of various Axis armies, sharing their personal experiences about the cooperation between the Wehrmacht and the military forces of the respective Axis allies.
Second, because the work is well-structured and easy to follow and understand. Each country is discussed in a separate chapter.
The list of countries includes: Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, USSR, and Vichy France.
