My Bagration 1944 Book

Hello friends,

I am happy to announce my newest project – a book about Operation “Bagration”, the Soviet biggest and perhaps most decisive victory in WW II. About a quarter of the manuscript is already completed.

It will be published by a major and well-known publisher, hopefully sometime this year.

My book will offer a fresh new look on what happened in Byelorussia during the faithful summer of 1944, as well as during the less known bloody battles preceding “Bagration”, which took place in the winter of 1943/44.

I’m sure you will learn many new things. Do you know, for instance, that there were two strategic plans developed by the Stavka in the spring of 1944 and only the second one was put into effect? And I’m sure that you have never heard of the grandiose Soviet attempt to conquer Central Europe already in 1944, in the immediate aftermath of “Bagration”. There will be some new takes on the ill-fated Warsaw uprising and the failed attempt of Stalin to seize the Balkans in the spring of 1944, as well. Intrigued?

The hardest part of the job is to select the image material. There will about 100 pictures in the book and I have a plenty to choose from.
